How From Red To Black Came To Be

Every business starts the same—someone has an idea and strives to make it into a reality.

This holds true for From Red To Black as well. The business itself started as a simple idea conceived shortly after I received my Associate’s Degree in Accounting in 2019. At that time, I had graduated with High Honors from Atlanta Technical College and had to consider what I would do with it going forward.

My first inclination was to continue pressing towards earning a Bachelor’s Degree by attending a major college. However, I had already done so chasing after a previous dream back when I had just graduated from High School and held an interest in programming, only to later deviate from that path. I didn’t want to spend several years repeating that same mistake only to come to the same realization a second time.

At the same time, I wanted to make use of the knowledge that I had gained to pay forward the help I received in returning to college after so long. The only reason I was able to do so was because of a lot of encouragement and assistance, which allowed me to dedicate myself to focusing on my studies for two years. Not many others were so fortunate.

So, I considered in what way I could be of service to others who were chasing after new opportunities.

My answer came when I found out the statistics for how many small businesses fail within five years due to not properly understanding the financial aspects of their business. Small businesses that may not be able to afford or see the need for a bookkeeper would be more likely to fail because they didn’t properly record their transactions or have a solid understanding of their cash flows. Mistakes made that could have been easily avoided if they had someone willing to give them a helping hand.

Once I realized that the idea of the From Red To Black came to my mind. It would be catered towards small business owners and independent contractors, who would benefit the most. Taking advantage of the virtual environment, it would be able to connect across the entirety of the United States.

This year going forward, I hope the business will be able to reach out to even more small business owners and independent contractors. There’s still a long road ahead of us all considering the state the world is in. So now more than ever everyone can use a helping hand.
